H-1B Cap Likely to be Reached Soon

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services reported today that as of Friday May 26, 2006, 49,034 of the available 58,200 H-1B petitions have been counted against the numerical limitation ("the Cap") for fiscal year 2007. We expect that the approximately 9,000 remaining petitions will be exhausted within the next few days.  New H-1Bs for persons graduating from U.S. institutions with advanced degrees, and H-1B1s for nationals of Singapore and Chile are subject to separate limitations which are not likely to be reached soon.
