August 2011 Visa Bulletin: Slight Advancements in EB-2 and EB-3 Categories

According to the Department of State’s August 2011 visa bulletin, the priority dates for employment-based second preference (EB-2) for individuals born in India and China will continue to advance for the month of August.

Foreign nationals with priority dates earlier than the cut-off dates below, or where noted as “current”, may file, or be approved for, an adjustment of status application in the month of August 2011. They may also be approved for an immigrant visa abroad:

EB-1 Worldwide:

EB-2 Worldwide (excluding China and India):

Current

EB-2 China

April 15, 2007 (forward movement of 1 month)

EB-2 India

April 15, 2007 (forward movement of 1 month)

EB-3 Worldwide (excluding China, India and Mexico):

November 1, 2005 (forward movement of 1 month)

EB-3 China:

July 8, 2004 (forward movement of 1 week)

EB-3 India:

June 1, 2002 (forward movement of 1 month)

EB-3 Mexico:

November 1, 2005 (forward movement of 4 months)
