Advancement of Priority Dates for EB-2 India and EB-3 Worldwide

The Department of State (DOS) released the May 2011 Visa Bulletin, indicating forward movement in the cut-off date for employment-based second preference (EB-2) for individuals born in India for two months, while EB-2 China has limited forward movement of two weeks. The employment-based third preference (EB-3) for all countries except India, China and Mexico moved forward by one month, while EB-3 China moved forward for over six weeks and EB-3 Mexico for three months.

Foreign nationals with priority dates earlier than the cut-off dates below, or where noted as "current", may file, or be approved for, an adjustment of status application in the month of May 2011. They may also be approved for an immigrant visa abroad:

EB-1 Worldwide:

EB-2 China

August 1, 2006 (forward movement of 2 weeks)

EB-2 India

July 1, 2006 (forward movement of 2 months)

EB-3 Worldwide (excluding China, India, Mexico and the Philippines):

August 22, 2005 (forward movement of 1 month)

EB-3 China:

April 15, 2004 (forward movement of over 1 month)

EB-3 India:

April 15, 2002 (forward movement of approximately 1 week)

EB-3 Mexico:

September 8, 2004 (forward movement of 4 months)

EB-3 Philippines:

August 22, 2005 (forward movement of 1 month)
