USCIS Issues New Version of I-9 Form: No Substantive Changes

The United States Citizenship & Immigration Services ("USCIS") has released a revised version of the Form I-9, used for employment eligibility verification. The new form, dated June 16, 2008, replaces the June 5, 2007 edition of the form, which is set to expire on June 30, 2008. The new form is available at
http://www.uscis.gov/i-9.

How This Affects You:
The new revised Form I-9 must be used by employers to verify employment authorization for new employees as of June 30, 2008. This new form, does not contain any substantive changes from the 2007 version.
